English Language Teaching Master's Program Application Requirements

Our Master’s programs aim to support the professional development of experienced English teachers and enhance the quality of English teaching in our country. Throughout the program, candidates work on theoretical topics in language teaching and their applications in classroom settings. Additionally, candidates acquire the knowledge and skills that will help them specialize in areas such as English Language Education, teacher training, assessment and evaluation in language teaching, material development, and research methods and techniques in education.

Application Requirements

  • Candidates must have a degree in English Language Teaching or be a graduate of English Language and Literature or Translation Studies with a teaching certificate in English.
  • Applicants must either be currently employed or have at least 1 year of experience as an English teacher (documentation will be requested during the interview).
  • A minimum score of 55 in the ALES exam (EA - Equal Weight).
  • A minimum score of 80 from the YDS/YÖKDİL exam within the last 5 years, or within the last 2 years a minimum score of 550 + TWE 4.5 on the TOEFL PBT, 213 + TWE 4.5 on the TOEFL CBT, or 79 + TWE 24 on the TOEFL iBT.
  • Candidates must pass a written/oral proficiency exam in the field of English Language Teaching.
  • Applicants must submit a statement of purpose during the online application and have two reference letters sent by their referees to elt@yeditepe.edu.tr. Students who do not submit their statement of purpose during the online application can bring these documents with them when they come for the written exam.
