Course Objectives: 
To provide an overview of current research and theories of language testing; To introduce the basic types of language tests, and some of the important concepts and issues in language testing, as well as a few very basic statistical procedures; To provide guidance and practice in evaluating, designing, trialing, and administering language tests.
Course Content: 

This course introduces graduate students the fundamental principles of language testing.  It focuses on the process of testing students’ language proficiency with respect to different language skills in the language classroom and the steps involved in this process.  We will take a critical perspective on common testing methods and procedures and explore their limitations with a special focus on validity and reliability.

Course Methodology:
